A message from Michael Ross, Managing Director
Thank you for joining us at the Playhouse for our 2012 Season – it was certainly Theater Worth Talking About! But is it Theater Worth Supporting?
We hope you agree that it is.
This year audiences took a haunting journey Into the Woods with a first-rate cast and witnessed Maureen Anderman’s tour-de-force performance in The Year of Magical Thinking. They laughed at Moliere’s wickedly funny, but surprisingly relevant classic Tartuffe and helped us launch the world premiere of Harbor. Perhaps most importantly, neighbors from across the street and around the region came together for Phylicia Rashad’s powerful production of A Raisin in Sun, and our community engagement and education initiative which reached audiences far greater than we ever have before, sparking vital shared experiences and conversation.
If you purchased a ticket in 2012, you have already demonstrated your commitment to quality live theater. That investment has made you an important partner in what we achieve on our stage.
Yet ticket sales account for only one-third of our operating budget.
Like all non-profit theaters the Playhouse must rely on continued generous support to serve as a vibrant artistic, educational and cultural asset for our entire region. We must rely on you to ensure the continuation of high-quality, entertaining and thought-provoking productions on stage. And we depend on you to support the important work we do beyond the stage, in classrooms and throughout our community.
Please make a gift today. Your donation will make it possible for thousands of audience members like you, as well as teachers, students, community partners, artists, and scholars, to be part of Theater Worth Talking About.
Thank you in advance for believing Westport Country Playhouse is also Theater Worth Supporting.
Sincerely,
Michael Ross
