A message from Michael Klingher, Board Chair
I may be biased as Chair of Westport Country Playhouse Board of Trustees, but I like to believe you’ll agree with me that our Playhouse is one of this region’s crown jewels. From our vibrant, first-rate productions to our diverse enrichment and education programs, the Playhouse makes this area a special place to live, work, and take pride in.
As a non-profit theater – dedicated to not only producing high quality theater, but serving the broader region we are fortunate to call home – we rely on charitable contributions to support our work on stage, with schools and in the community. The Playhouse must raise 60% of its budget each and every year. That is a tall order. Thankfully and to this end, generous friends of the Playhouse, Maureen and Edwin Schloss, have given us an extraordinary gift – a $100,000 challenge grant that asks our family of ticket buyers and subscribers to raise an equivalent sum between now and November 15th. Westport Country Playhouse creates Theater Worth Talking About and the Schlosses say “it is also theater worth supporting.” They are leading by example with their challenge gift.
Now it is your turn. Please help us match their call to action and
make a contribution during this challenge period. Your participation will make all the difference. A gift of any size will be deeply appreciated and help us reach our $100,000 goal.
Your donation will be put to immediate use to fund:

Student Matinees- Serving 3,000 youngsters annually-25% of whom come from underserved districts and receive free or reduced admission and transportation

Educator Workshops-free to our region’s teachers conducted by notable experts enhancing teaching techniques and classroom learning
•
Together at the Table- Serving hundreds of families by providing accessibility to our productions plus dinner, all for $10
