Make a Special Gift
Every project at the Playhouse needs devoted supporters to ensure it has the
resources it needs to fulfill its potential. There are many ways to contribute to the Westport Country Playhouse to help further the future of American Theater or to leave a lasting legacy.
Woodward Internship Program
Westport Country Playhouse is home to one of the nation’s preeminent theater internship programs. The training of emerging professionals in the theater has formed a vital part of our mission since 1946. The program was named for Joanne Woodward to honor her deep commitment to the program’s chief principle – that learning by doing is the best way to perfect one’s craft. New Works Circle
Commercial theater too rarely takes a risk on new work, and nonprofit theater too seldom has the resources it takes to give a new play the development period it deserves. But with your help, the Playhouse can continue to create new work. And as an investor in this new work, you will have the opportunity to see your investment take shape, sitting as an observer in a rehearsal room, and applauding on opening night as a brand new play is born.
Preserve your name or that of someone you love with an engraved bluestone in the elliptical courtyard, or choose a garden paving stone for one of the pathways through the garden. Choose between a 12” x 18” engraved bluestone or an 8” x 8” engraved paver to leave a long-lasting tribute.
Or, help pave a child’s first steps into the world of theater! In support of our educational initiatives, the path to the Lucille Lortel White Barn Center is made up of garden stones that celebrate the longstanding Playhouse commitment to presenting quality children’s theater and providing the finest in educational programs. Add to this legacy with a 8” x 8” paver engraved with the first name of your child in the Children’s Path of Playhouse Alley.
