Known as the Tri-States’ favorite early childhood musician, Ramblin’ Dan has been bringing his infectious energy to families since 2009. Adorned in his signature fedora hats, Dan is known for magically connecting with kids while creating a musical experience that is just as enjoyable for adults as it is for their little ones.
In addition to being a dynamic performer on stage, Ramblin Dan’s first love is teaching. After leading other early childhood music programs for six years, Dan started “Ramblin Dan’s Freewheelin’ Band,” in 2015. His Program “Parent/Caretaker and Me” group music classes for 0-3 years olds and Birthday Parties for 1-6 Years olds.
In 2020 when the Pandemic hit, Dan started providing free webcasts and full free online classes on youtube, which launched a new Era of reaching a wider audience and necessitated growing his program with additional teachers or “Bandleaders.”
“Ramblin Dan’s Freewheelin’ Band” now teaches over 1000 children every week in NY, CT and NJ with 8 other “Bandleaders” also leading classes and parties. Dan personally has performed thousands of concerts and parties and taught well over 10,000 early childhood music classes.
His philosophy is simple.
Safety First – kids (and all people) need to feel safe before they can bloom. Every teacher and coach should always put this as their top priority before all else in order to help children maximize their potential.
Connect – Love and social connection is the human species number one survival mechanism. Before modern civilization took root, humans survived by being in groups, and our brains are still wired to seek connections for this reason. Children are literally designed to bond, because by bonding they create relationships with people who will protect them.
By truly seeing children, appreciating them, validating them and connecting with them in class, they then feel safe to explore, dance, sing and make other social connections with other children in class.
And of course, PLAY GOOD MUSIC and HAVE A TON OF FUN WITH THE KIDS!
