WCP presents a cornucopia of holiday events

Singer Rondi Charleston has appeared onstage at Lincoln Center. She's appeared at The Blue Note and Birdland, but she has never before appeared in her hometown. That will change on Dec. 19 when the jazz singer steps onto the stage at the Westport Country Playhouse.
"This is my first time at the Playhouse," said Charleston, whose family has lived in town for the past 10 years. "I'm bringing in my full band... These are musicians you have to go to The Blue Note for and they're going to be in Westport."
Charleston is appearing as part of the Westport County Playhouse's Holiday Festival, which will feature a variety of holiday-related shows during the month of December. It's a different approach to the holidays for the Playhouse.
"This holiday programming allows us to give something back to the community at affordable prices," said Mark Lamos, the Westport Country Playhouse's artistic director, in an e-mail.
