Anna Simone Scott

A dual American/Irish-Australian citizen, Anna has worked globally as an actor and filmmaker. She received a Daytime Emmy® Nomination for her film, Take My Heart, and is an award winning writer/director for her previous films. Holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre and Fine Arts from Sydney where she acted in films, Television and commercials. In London she studied at The Actors Centre and Shakespeare at RADA. Roles at The Roundhouse and ICA Theatres followed. Also worked at The Royal Court Theatre with The Young People’s Playwright’s Program. Leading roles at Repertory Theatres throughout the UK including Sarah in Alan Ayckbourn’s The Norman Conquests. Roles on BBC and ITV TV series. In New York Anna studied script interpretation with Stella Adler and scene study with Robert Lewis. Recurring roles: As The World Turns; Another World, Days of Our Lives. Theatre Off- Broadway on Theatre Row and Off-Off Broadway including, Elizabeth in The Crucible with The Ensemble Company at The Roundabout Theatre.

Theatre credits in LA: Theatre East and Complex Theatre productions of her play, Chasing Chekhov; Anon with The Echo Theatre Company, among others.

Anna’s film, Chasing Chekhov won Best Film at the BAFTA LA Members’ Film Festival. Currently attached to direct the feature films: Salt Creek, Summer Wine, and with her film company, VisionFire Films, Of Corsica, a European comedy and the drama, 

Being Maureen, based on her play, The Grass Couch, which was developed by The Directors Company in NYC. Memberships: BAFTA; SAG-AFTRA, AEA; The Dramatists Guild of America, and Women in Media. Anna is thrilled to be on stage at Westport Country Playhouse for the first time with the Script in Hand series!
