Evette Marie White is elated to be a part of this Script in Hand playreading series at the Westport Country Playhouse. Evette hails from the countryside of Chesapeake, VA where she studied Musical Theatre at Howard University in Washington, DC. She had the privilege of touring the world in Ghost The Musical (US 1st National, 1st Asian & 1st Australian Tours) playing Clara Brown and the 2nd Asian Tour where she played Oda Mae Brown. Evette has performed in several shows such as the original cast of Marcus Gardley’s The Road Weeps, The Well Runs Dry (Perseverance Theatre), Death of a Salesmen, A Christmas Carol and the world premiere of Grammy Award Winner Bruce Hornsby’s musical SCKBSTD directed by Tony Award Winner John Rando (Virginia Stage Company), Hairspray (Virginia Musical Theatre) and understudied Mrs. Breedlove in the international tour of The Bluest Eye. Additionally, she performed at the 50th Anniversary Beatles Tribute at the Hollywood Bowl with Warner Brothers’ recording artist Kaya Stewart; daughter of the legendary Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics.
