Director of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion

Compensation: $75 ,000 + benefits
Full-time

The Director of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) will work with all departments within the theater and will report directly to the Managing Director. In addition, the individual
selected for this position will be expected to provide strategic and day to day operational leadership of all EDI policies, programs, training, and practices for the organization. This is a new position, reflecting the commitment of our Board and staff to place anti-racism and inclusion at the center of our work. We expect the individual selected for this position to be instrumental in helping us realize our vision of becoming a regional hub for theater, art, ideas, and fellowship with communities extending beyond Westport to Southwestern Connecticut.

Assistant House Manager

Compensation: $16 per hour
Part-time, hourly

The Assistant House Managers (AHMs) report to the House and Events Manager (HEM) and are responsible for serving as House Manager for most performances at the Playhouse. The AHM will arrive two hours prior to curtain to ensure spaces are audience ready and will then supervise concessions, ushers, and parking attendants during their shifts. AHM must be available to work nights and weekends.

Marketing Assistant

Compensation: $38,000 + Benefits
Full-time

The Marketing Assistant (MA) provides key support for all marketing department events, initiatives, promotions, and campaigns. The MA will be responsible for email creation, website monitoring and updates, gathering content for production program books, as well as administrative tasks like invoicing and tracking the marketing budget.
The MA reports directly to the Director of Marketing and will work closely with the Deputy Director of Marketing, Public Relations Manager, and freelance videographers and photographers.

Social Media Specialist

Fee: $1,500 per month
Independent Contractor

The Social Media Specialist (SMS) will be responsible for creating content on Playhouse social media channels to cultivate and nurture the Playhouse’s digital communities. Primary goals will be to strengthen brand awareness, increase the size of social media audiences, develop and execute a digital content calendar, track and increase engagement, curate and post stories/posts on all Playhouse social media channels (currently Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), and to identify and make use of social media channels not currently in use (TikTok and others). As an independent contractor, the SMS will have broad discretion around and control over their day-to-day activities. The Playhouse’s expectation is that the SMS will post engaging Playhouse content on a daily or near-daily basis, and that content will dovetail with and compliment other Playhouse sales, marketing, and institutional messaging. SMS must be able to represent the Playhouse at events held in Connecticut and New York.

Operations & Special Events Coordinator (OSEC)

Compensation: $38,000 + benefits
Full-time

Reporting to the Director of Development, the Operations & Special Events Coordinator (OSEC) is a member of the development team and is responsible for department operations such as gift processing, donor acknowledgement letters, database management, and general administrative functions. OSEC will plan and execute all special events such as Opening Nights, donor cultivation and stewardship events, receptions, and Board events, and will serve as key project manager to support the Playhouse’s annual Gala. Additionally, OSEC will collaborate with the Director of Development to operationalize and support the annual fund, including donor benefit fulfillment, donor moves management in Tessitura, donor communications, and prospect research. This is a full-time position with benefits.
