Brian J. Carter is delighted to return to the stage of the Westport Country Playhouse. He has appeared on New York’s most iconic television shows: “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”, “Dear Edward”, “The Blacklist”, “Run the World”, “Blue Bloods”, “The Americans”, “Jessica Jones”, “Gotham”, “Person of Interest”, “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”, “Veep”, “Deadbeat”, and both “Law & Order: SVU” and “Law & Order”. Film credits include Ocean’s Eight (director Gary Ross and opposite Sandra Bullock); Loserville; The Family Fang (directed by Jason Bateman); Sex, Death, and Bowling; (directed Ally Walker), The Preppie Connection; In Stereo; Santa Con (directed by Melissa Joan Hart); Kurt; and The Magnificent Meyersons. His stage career launched with the Pulitzer Prize©-winning original production of Wit. Other Off-Broadway credits: Vigil, The Collaborators, The President, Noon Divide, Vast Machine, Broken Fences, In the Shadow of the Glen, and The Dybbuk. He has worked at many acclaimed regional theaters including Westport Country Playhouse, Cleveland Playhouse, Bucks County Playhouse, Cape Playhouse, Actors Theatre of Louisville, and Virginia Shakespeare Festival. Brian also runs a professional training program for young actors and serves as a professional acting coach for adults through THE ACTING GYM with classes in Westport and New York City. His students have booked series regular roles, guest stars and appear regularly on Broadway. THE ACTING GYM’s Summer Film Training Program has produced 25 short films and 5 feature films which have received recognition from over 40 film festivals.
