Winter fun for the whole family!

We are pleased to announce the first community event conceived, organized, and run by our Playhouse Youth Council, a group of engaged local high school students. Bring the family to a day of games, story readings, and holiday cheer — fun for every generation!

100% of the net proceeds from ticket sales and pictures with Santa will go directly to Homes with Hope, a Westport-based organization dedicated to ending homelessness in Fairfield County.

Keep your tummies warm with hot drinks while you wait to have your photo taken with Santa. Fuel up on festive snacks (and candy) for the music, scavenger hunt, winter crafts and so much more!

Proof of vaccination is required for attendees aged 18 and up. Masks are required for all aged 2–18.

Most activities and restrooms — including photos with Santa — are located indoors in our open barn space where masks are required, so please have one handy. All Playhouse staff and volunteers will be masked and vaccinated. Masks are encouraged though not required while outdoors.  Please continue to check our website for COVID-19 safety updates.

Eating and drinking will only be allowed outside.

We’re collecting non-perishable food donations for Homes with Hope. Most-needed food items are canned proteins (tuna, chicken, salmon) and canned soups and stews. See a full list here.

Help spread the joy this holiday season by bringing an unwrapped new gift or book for Toys for Tots — the Playhouse is once again a drop-off location. Toys can be dropped off when the box office is open (T–F, 12PM–6PM) and during Winter fUN Fest until December 10, 2021.

 Homes With Hope

Homes with Hope is a Westport-based organization dedicated to preventing and ending homelessness in Fairfield County.

Incorporated on December 5, 1983, Homes with Hope (formerly the Interfaith Housing Association) opened in 1984 as a homeless shelter for single men, and occupied a retired firehouse owned by the Town of Westport. Local religious organizations worked together to create the Interfaith Housing Association in response to an increased number of homeless individuals, primarily men, who were turning to them for aid.

Today, the agency provides emergency shelter for men and women, supportive housing for individuals and families, rapid re-housing, diversion services, a community kitchen, food pantry, youth development programs and mentoring. Our knowledgeable and innovative staff develops individualized case management plans with sustainable solutions so that everyone we serve has the opportunity to achieve and maintain an independent life.

Our Youth Council is a laboratory, of sorts, where high school students will act as changemakers and ambassadors to the Playhouse. Brainstorming innovative ideas for youth programming, learning from artists and activists, creating fundraising opportunities for our community, and assisting in WCP events are just a few of the ways our council members will contribute to the overall success of the future Playhouse.

Meet the Council »

In the event of inclement weather, the festivities will be moved to Saturday, December 18. Please check website, your email, and social media for updates and alerts.
