Adelka Polak - Teaching Artist, Sova Theatre

Adelka Polak is the Artistic Director and founder of Sova Theatre in 2013. She has worked for 15 years as a dancer, puppeteer, mask-performer and movement director with various companies, including Masque Theatre whose work traveled to Denmark, Taiwan, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, and Turkey. Recently, at LaMama E.T.C. she performed puppets from the Henson Workshop in "Crane: On Earth, In Sky" led by Heather Henson & Ty Defoe. Collaborators also include Michael Pestel, Justin Perlman, the Czechoslovak-American Marionette Theater and Squonk Opera. Sova Theatre brings nature to the classroom through innovative puppetry programming from Sandy Hook to Hartford, while also working on arts integration for outdoor education like Two Coyotes Wilderness School where she developed "Wild Theater,” which offers young artists the tools to create original work in the woods every summer. www.AdelkaPolak.com
